There comes a point in walking with Jesus that we learn to trust that what He has for us is better than what we could ever dream for ourselves. This is the exact prayer I prayed when I was single in my late 30s and still longing for marriage and a family. I stopped telling God what to do and just asked Him to give me HIs hightest and best.

That's why prayer and surrender go hand in hand. When we put the desire of our heart in the loving hands of the One who fashioned our hearts, then we know the outcome will be God's highest and best will for us.
